Alcan Composites Offer Structa-Board

September 29, 2008

Structa-Board has joined the product lineup of Alcan Composites USA as a new intermediate category of foam-centered boards. New Structa-Board combines the properties of legendary Fome-Cor board and Gatorfoam. Structa- Board consists of an extruded polystyrene core that is denser than Fome-Cor board and sandwiched between two tough lightweight manmade wood-fiber veneer facers that offer the strength and rigidity of Gatorfoam's dent- and scratch-resistant surface.

These two components combine the benefits of Fome-Cor board and Gatorfoam in one mid-priced product. Structa-Board can be die cut, knife cut, sawed, and routed, and can be direct screen-printed and digitally printed as well as painted and mounted. Structa-Board is perfect for creating point-of-purchase displays, interior signage, exhibits, and kiosks designed for multi-year use, as well as for framing applications.

Structa-Board is available with bright white facers and a black polystyrene core that contains recycled material content. Standard 48-inch by 96-inch sheets in the 3/16-inch (5mm) thickness are available, as well as cut-toorder sizes in up to 96-inch by 120-inch sheets. High volume custom orders are readily handled.

Structa-Board currently may be ordered through Laird Plastics, Inc. Visit www.lairdplastics.com for more information.
